For an upcoming project to rebuild a unique Combination of Truck and Clamshell in Germany, I am looking for a survivor, I'm sure there are a lot spreaded over the US.
The Moto Crane that was built by the Thew Lorain Company in the 40s.
One of them found its way to Germany and was refitted with a 1956 Menck M 60 cable crane excavator, at that time one of the most popular ones in Germany and Europe. The truck received a Deutz air cooled Diesel engine and this unique machine served its changing owners until the mid 90s, when it was scrapped. 20 years went by and I, as a proud owner of a 1954 fully restored Menck M 60 dragline, think about rebuilding this useful combination, as here in Germany are still some old Mencks alive, despite their usually bad crawler assembly. I actually only need the truck base, the Lorain crane will not be shipped to Germany. Any ideas? This is how it looked like: http://www.baumaschinenbilder.de/forum/thread.php?threadid=45624

    Thx Michael
