2024 CONVENTION, NEW YORK STEAM ENGINE ASSOCIATION, CANANDAIGUA, NEW YORK

  • HCEA Canada’s 1952 TD6 propels a J. D. Adams Leaning Wheel No. 104 grader bearing a nameplate for the Town of Granger, New York.
  • National Director Dean Wack designed and fabricated these pieces for the auction – a Bucyrus-Erie dragline bucket planter, and a table patterned after a span of a steel arch bridge. Thanks, Dean!
  • Framed just a tad to the left, and this shot of an Allis-Chalmers AD4 motor grader, with the frame lettering of another A-C grader in the foreground, might have looked like an A-C promotional photo!
  • This 19A series D9D works over the dirt pile.
  • Corporate Member G. Greene Construction Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts, showed this American Road Equipment Company 800-M motor grader. A Farmall M tractor provides the power.
  • A comment was made at our last Canandaigua appearance, “It’s just fun!” Jon Houck is certainly having fun with his 1958 D4, a very late 7U model.
  • Several traction engines were part of the hosting show. The one on the left is unidentified, and an Advance-Rumely is at right. Note the young fireman on the unidentified engine – get ‘em hooked early
  • This Schield Bantam ABM-51 truck backhoe built for the Armed Forces. Rollin Wilson is the owner.
  • The Jersey Spreader box was widely used in the 1950s and 1960s. A 1944 Cat D7 provides the oomph, and Harold Laffler owns both machines. Gary Munsey Sr.’s 1987 Ford L8000 delivers a load to it.
