    Just purchased a 399 BC, not sure of date of manufacture Serial # GS6516.  Haven't been able to get a load chart.  Any information or ideas appreciated.

    Have a book on the 395/399. Plus I have run a few of these. What information do you need?

    I found a Detroit Diesel Inline 71 manual so I am good with the engine.

    I do have a problem with the travel lock, can't get the lever to move, it is set at 2 dogs out so can move the machine but can only dig diagonally to the tracks.  Any ideas?

    about the only thing you can do is chase to linkage from the very top. It will require a helper, take each pin out and check the movement and then put the pin back in.  Do this all the way to the pawl and you will find the problem. Had to do it on a dragline, but did find the problem.
